My Liberty Journey

I first became involved with liberty in 2014 when competing in the American Horsewoman’s Challenge in Guthrie, OK. It was a completely new experience for me, and it proved to be challenging yet rewarding. Honestly, I haven’t done much with liberty since then, as it was something that at the time felt overwhelming to me. However, after hearing about ILHA and the great support system and learning opportunities they offer, along with having a lot more horsemanship experience under my belt, I am very excited to get more involved in it once again. I am also looking forward to this as I am hoping this may be just what my personal horse and I need, as I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to find the right discipline for us. He is a Mustang with a lot of personality, and it was actually because of how connected he already is to me, that made me think about giving liberty a try. I believe this may be a discipline that will truly let him shine and I am so excited to start this journey and share what I learn along the way with my clients and their horses.
